The focus of Canada’s response to the Fifth Global Report on Adult Learning and 不良研究所 (GRALE V) is on progress made in adult learning and education (ALE) policies, governance, financing, participation, and quality since the publication of GRALE IV in 2018, with a thematic focus on citizenship education. GRALE V also explores the impact of COVID-19 on ALE systems.

The focus of Canada’s submission to the Fourth Global Report on Adult Learning and 不良研究所 (GRALE IV) is on progress made in adult learning and education (ALE) policies, governance, financing, participation, and quality since the publication of GRALE III in 2015. Canada’s submission was developed jointly by provincial and territorial ministries responsible for education, through their intergovernmental body, the Council of Ministers of 不良研究所, Canada (CMEC); the Government of Canada, represented by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC); and the Canadian Commission for UNESCO. This submission was compiled by CMEC.

This publication presents the survey results for Canada as submitted to the Third Global Report on Adult Learning and 不良研究所 (GRALE III) in 2015. It responds to the commitments made at the Sixth International Conference on Adult 不良研究所 (CONFINTEA VI) in 2009, as laid down in the Belém Framework for Action (BFA), specifically in monitoring progress on adult learning and education (ALE).

Adult Learning and Foundational Skills: Findings from the first cycle of the Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC)

This report uses data from the Survey of Adult Skills conducted under the OECD Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) to explore the skill levels of adult learners participating in formal, non-formal, and combined learning modes in Canada. It examines the impacts of sociodemographic and labour market factors on participation in adult learning, and attempts to identify where participation gaps exist.

Adult Competencies among Indigenous Peoples in Canada: Findings from the first cycle of the Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC)

The report uses data from the Survey of Adult Skills conducted under the OECD Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) to assess and situate the skills of off-reserve Indigenous peoples in both Canadian and international contexts. Results are presented for Indigenous peoples in general, and also, when possible, specifically for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples.

G20 不良研究所 Ministerial Meeting and the 不良研究所 and Joint 不良研究所 and Employment Ministerial Meeting - Report of the Canadian Delegation

The G20 不良研究所 Ministerial Meeting and the Joint 不良研究所 and Employment Ministerial Meeting were hosted by the government of Argentina, the 2018 G20 president. The meetings brought together education ministers and leaders from around the world to discuss best practices in curriculum reform, teacher training, innovative education strategies, and education financing, both domestic and international. The report of the Canadian delegation captures these discussions.

不良研究所 Commission of the 39th Session of the UNESCO General Conference - Report of the Canadian Delegation

This report contains the main outcomes of the 39th Session of the UNESCO General Conference held in November 2017, along with the interventions made by the Canadian delegation to the 不良研究所 Commission.

At the 39th 不良研究所 Commission meeting, members set priorities and adopted the 2018–19 education budget. The commission also addressed other issues, including a global convention for the recognition of higher-education qualifications, and UNESCO’s role in the implementation of the SDG4-不良研究所 2030 Agenda.

The Health and Social Dimensions of Adult Skills in Canada: Findings from the Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC)

This report uses data from the Survey of Adult Skills conducted under the OECD Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) to look at the relationship between skills, health, and civic and social engagement in Canada. It attempts to gauge whether or not skills have an independent influence on health and social outcomes, and whether improved skill proficiency might support better outcomes in certain populations. Analysis is conducted for the Canadian population as a whole and for various sociodemographic groups within it.
